Arrow Cdcovers.cc Version 2.0 - The Fixes That Work/Worked!

Cookies:
The new version makes extensive use of cookies in order to provide the best user experience available. Usually problems with cookies are identified when a user clicks on a thumbnail and the download page reloads again with thumbnails instead of the actual cover (you can see it in action by directly going to one of the download pages - http://www.cdcovers.cc/view/21498/front/borat).

The cause for problems with cookies and their solutions are:
  • restrictive security and privacy settings in IE - usually solved by resetting both to their default level.
  • cookies are disabled - enabling them solves the problem
  • firewalls such as zonealarm and similar that block cookies
  • cookies directory is full - cleaning your cookies should solve the problem
  • system clock and/or time zone are inaccurate - syncing or adjusting time to the correct time and time zone should do the trick.
**update**: an error message will displayed now if we identify that your clock is not set correctly.
Supported Browsers:
The site has been tested and found working on the following browsers:
  • Firefox 1.5, 2.0
  • Internet Explorer 6, 7
  • Opera 9.10
**update**: a warning will be displayed when trying to download using one of the unsupported browsers.
There have been reports that other browsers (such as Safari and other older version) are not working. Users who encounter problems when using one of the non supported browsers should install one of the above.

Outdated DNS Cache:
Sometimes old DNS entries are cached on users computers or their ISPs servers for a long time. This causes the address www.cdcovers.cc to point to our old servers which are no longer operational. The symptoms are seeing the old design or getting 404 Page not found errors.

If the problem is local to your computer, the solution is flushing the dns cache - usually done by ipconfig /flushdns on windows command prompt - see http://www.tech-faq.com/flush-dns.shtml for more information.
If this doesn't help then the problem might be with your ISP and in this case you should contact them and ask them to refresh their DNS.

After each of the above solutions, you should clear your browser cache and restart your browser

Wait a minute here. I hope cdcovers.cc is not seriously forcing everyone to synchronize to the 'correct' time zone and time to download your stuff!

Last I checked, there are over thirty different time zones, with times running the gamut from 12 midnight to 11:59 PM, and each and every one of them is perfectly valid.

There are 75 timezone's on a pc and it only take's less than 30 second's to change it if it's incorrect. We are not forcing everyone to change there timezone but most member's PC's will be set up correctly.

Hi, I just became a member yesterday and to be honest I do not like the way you have changed this site, The old one was so much eaiser to use. Anyway, can you please instruct me as to how to download dvd covers? I have followed the instructions and when I go to print it out it comes out all distorted. Thank you and I will wait for your reply

Welcome to the forum

Sounds like you have saved the preview picture, When you see the preview photo click on Front if thats what you need and it will download into a bigger picture then right click and save.

Some PC's do not have the correct timezone which can effect the way the site works, look here to check yours - http://forums.cdcovers.cc/showthread.php?t=193968

Once all the bugs are fixed the site will be alot better

Dear Sir, thank you for your reply but my problem was that I had not yet downloaded firefox. I was doing what you said but that was'nt working because when I printed out the cover it came out all distorted, now all is just great except the titles for the covers you display are really hard to read. can you make them any larger? Thanks again for your help, I just have to get use to all your changes from the old site . Have a good one!!

Here's a good way to make the text larger on a site, Hold down the CTRL key and roll the wheel on your mouse if you have one, roll back to make text lager and forward to make smaller.

Give it a try.
